Farnek, a leading facilities management company in the UAE, has named Muna AlNahdi as their new Head of Consultancy & Sustainability. In this role, AlNahdi will oversee Farnek’s green strategy and net zero plans.
With over 14 years of experience in the UAE, AlNahdi will lead a team of energy efficiency engineers, auditors, and sustainability consultants who work in various sectors including hotels, retail, offices, and residential properties.
AlNahdi will spearhead Farnek’s net zero program, aiming to reduce electricity, water, refrigerant, and fuel consumption by 30% by 2026, and emissions by 50% by 2031.
Prior to joining Farnek, AlNahdi held technical positions at well-known organizations such as the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence, Al Futtaim Technologies, and Quantum Eurostar. Most recently, she oversaw the energy management department at South Energy, achieving significant energy savings and generating project fees.
AlNahdi is impressed by Farnek’s reputation in the FM market for sustainability and their range of in-house developed digital solutions through sister company HITEK. She acknowledges the importance of these solutions in measuring energy performance and carbon emissions for climate mitigation. AlNahdi holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy & Sustainability. She is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), a Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP), and a LEED Green Associate. In 2015, she received the prestigious Dr. Sadek Owainati Special Student Award from the UAE’s Rochester Institute of Technology.
